“We opened our U.S. franchise using the E-2 visa. The business plan Leiter Rahme prepared was approved on first submission at the Montréal consulate. Far less expensive than a New York firm — same legal standard.”

★★★★★

“My TN visa was refused at the border. Leiter Rahme had me back at the port of entry with a complete documentation package two weeks later. I’ve been renewing with them for three years.”

“We structured our U.S. restaurant group acquisition as an E-2 investment. Leiter Rahme’s business plan was consulate-approved on first submission. The cost was a fraction of what a New York firm quoted us.”

Can a Canadian firm handle my U.S. immigration case? +
Only if the firm holds U.S. bar admission. Leiter Rahme is admitted to the New York State Bar, giving us full legal authority to represent you in U.S. immigration matters — without needing to engage a separate American firm.
What is the minimum investment for an E-2 visa? +
There is no fixed statutory minimum. The investment must be “substantial” relative to the total cost of the enterprise — in practice, often $100,000+, though smaller amounts can qualify for lower-cost businesses. Funds must be at risk and committed.
How is the TN visa different from an H-1B? +
The TN visa is available only to Canadian and Mexican professionals under CUSMA, has no annual cap or lottery, and is processed at the border. The H-1B is subject to an annual cap, a lottery, and lengthy USCIS processing.
Can I apply for an EB-5 visa from Canada? +
Yes. Canadian nationals and residents of any nationality living in Canada can pursue the EB-5 immigrant investor green card through a qualifying investment, typically $800,000 in a designated Regional Center project.
Do I need to visit the U.S. Consulate for my E-2 application? +
Canadian nationals can apply at a U.S. Consulate in Montréal or Ottawa without first entering the U.S. We prepare your full DS-160 package and conduct mock consular interview preparation before your appointment.
What if my U.S. visa is refused? +
Depending on the grounds, options include reapplication with corrected evidence or a waiver of inadmissibility (I-601 / I-601A). We assess the refusal and advise on the strongest available remedy.
